A dental bridge is an artificial, but permanent, dental treatment that allows you to fill the gap left by one, or many, missing teeth. The conventional dental bridge features a prosthetic tooth attached to a crown which is then fitted to an adjoining tooth.

Types of bridges may vary, depending upon how they are fabricated and the way they anchor to the adjacent teeth. A bridge is fabricated by reducing the teeth on either side of the missing tooth or teeth by a preparation pattern determined by the location of the teeth and by the material from which the bridge is fabricated. Root Canal

When most people think of root canal, they think of unbearable pain and a dentist with a drill big enough to re-create the Channel Tunnel. In reality, root canal treatment can be a lot more simple, and certainly a lot less painful than you might initially think.

Root canal treatment may be needed when a cavity or tooth damage leaves the nerve root of the tooth exposed. In these situations, the nerve exposure can cause sever pain, and if left untreated, the tooth would eventually die and would have to be extracted. Read More

Preventative Dentistry

As we all only have one set of adult teeth, preventing dental conditions is favourable to having to cure them once they have occurred.

Fluoride coating - Fluoride coating involves painting a varnish containing high levels of fluoride onto the surface of your teeth to prevent decay. This treatment works by strengthening your enamel, the surface of your teeth, making it more resistant to decay.

Fissure Sealant – Fissure sealants cover the chewing surfaces of the back teeth with a special thin plastic coating to keep germs and food out of the gaps. Sealants can last for as long as 5 to 10 years.

Hygiene services – Our dental hygienist treatment helps to remove built up plaque and treat or prevent gum disease. By keeping your teeth clean all year round, this can help you avoid any more serious dental conditions.

Restorative Dentistry

If you require restorative dental treatment, Confident Dental Practice's dentists provide an excellent service that will get you smiling again soon. You can read more about each of the treatments we offer on their individual pages, designed to help you understand what treatment you require. However, if you have any questions or want to talk to us further about your teeth, please feel free to contact us.

Crowns – A crown is an artificial tooth that fits over a cracked or broken natural tooth. Dental crowns can be made from metal, usually gold or ceramic materials such as porcelain or a combination of both.

Bridges – A bridge is an artificial but permanent replacement for one or more missing tooth. It is anchored to the adjacent teeth.

Inlay/Onlay - Inlays and onlays are normally used in situations where a tooth is too damaged or fragile for a normal filling. An impression of the tooth is taken and used to create a filling made from a hard material that is then fitted in or around the tooth. Inlays and onlays have traditionally been made from gold but can be made of porcelain or a composite resin, which comes in several shades and can be matched to the colour of the tooth.

Root Canal – Our dentists are skilled at performing Root Canal treatment and in the majority of cases, can save the tooth.

Dentures – Dentures are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth, which are supported by surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity.

Extractions – Occasionally a tooth has to be removed because of severe decay or because it is causing crowding. At Confident Dental, our dentists are highly skilled at removing teeth from simple extractions to surgical extractions.
